On November 22, 2024, Ding Ru, Director of the Shandong Center of the German Steinbeck Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center, led a team to the International Innovation and Transformation College of Shandong University for cooperation negotiations. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on discipline construction, talent training evaluation, and project cooperation. Qiao Yue, Vice Dean of the School of International Innovation and Transformation at Shandong University, and Zheng Haitao, Assistant Dean and Director of EDP Center, attended the symposium.

The core topic of this exchange is how to promote the cultivation of innovative transformation talents and the efficient implementation of technology transfer, aiming to strengthen the construction of technology transfer system through school enterprise cooperation, and promote the transformation and application of innovative achievements.

Director Ding Ru provided a detailed introduction to the development background, organizational structure, and unique operational mode of the German Steinbeck Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center, emphasizing the important role of “dual education” and “excellent engineer training” in the cultivation of innovative transformation talents.

Director Ding Ru has been committed to the establishment and development of a social group for technology managers in recent years. She stated that in the future, she will closely cooperate with the International Innovation and Transformation College of Shandong University in the cultivation of technology transfer talents, industry standards, academic education, and enterprise training. She specifically mentioned that innovation transformation is not only about the application of technology, but also requires high-quality management and decision-making talents, and technology managers play a bridging role in it.

Vice Dean Qiao Yue introduced the development process and functional positioning of the International Innovation and Transformation College of Shandong University since its establishment in 2017.

Vice Dean Qiao Yue stated that the college adheres to the concept of innovative development and is willing to cooperate with enterprises and professional service institutions in professional discipline construction, technology transfer education, and other aspects to jointly promote the improvement and innovation of the technology transfer system. He also mentioned that the college will increase its cooperation with industry associations in the future, participate in the formulation of industry standards and the construction of the technology transfer ecosystem, in order to contribute more wisdom and strength to the country’s innovation driven development strategy.

Zhang Dezhen emphasized that the role of universities in technological innovation and technology transfer is crucial, but the existing education system and talent cultivation model are still unable to meet the needs of economic development in the new era.

In terms of teaching planning, Zhang Dezhen further proposed that it is necessary to start from the cooperation between enterprises and universities, establish a multi-level and multi-dimensional talent training system, so that students can understand industry needs in practical operations, and better serve the actual needs of technology transfer. Only in this way can we effectively solve the problem of the disconnect between technology and economy, and achieve the true transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Through this exchange, the German Steinbeck Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center and the International Innovation Transformation Institute of Shandong University have reached multiple cooperation intentions. Both sides will carry out in-depth cooperation on talent training for technology transfer, engineering master’s programs, industry standards, and other aspects. This negotiation not only deepened the understanding and trust between both parties, but also laid a solid foundation for further promoting technological innovation and achievement transformation in China’s manufacturing industry.
